NORWICH & DISTRICT WILDFOWLERS ASSOCIATION
– FOUNDED IN 1964
Welcome to NDWA
Proud in Tradition
The Norwich and District Wildfowlers Association (NDWA) was founded in 1964 and has a wide variety of marshes and river frontage to enjoy. It has a proud tradition in Conservation and has an enthusiastic and diverse membership.
Wildfowling is the pursuit of geese and ducks often on wind swept marshes, tidal rivers and estuaries and other wetland areas. Not for the faint hearted, Wildfowling is a challenging sport requiring considerable stamina and patience, as it takes place in challenging terrain during the winter months in wet, muddy and often cold conditions.
A Dedicated Club of EnthusiaSts
This website is dedicated to those of us who love getting up far too early, getting far too cold, getting far too wet and having the privilege to pursue the most amazing birds in the world.
The Club operates a mentoring system for all new members, depending on experience.
The Association was formed in November 1964 following a meeting at the World’s End Public House at Mulbarton, near Norwich. The pub had formed various clubs and teams, one of which being a shooting club based at Mulbarton. From that it was decided to try and form a wildfowling club and advertisements were placed in the local press. As a result of that meeting the NDWA was formed with an initial 40 members.
